SCP-1548-KO (?)
SCP-1548-KO is a sentient red dwarf star, normally known as Gliese 628, that gained knowledge about Earth and humans by receiving our radio signals. It is now sending its own messages back without any delay and is rapidly moving towards our Solar System. The star believes it is in a loving relationship with Earth, thinks humanity is a "parasitic" species harming Earth, and intends to destroy all life in the Solar System to "save" Earth and be with it forever. The Foundation is trying to hide its existence from the public, collect its transmissions, and develop plans to either deceive the star with fake messages or evacuate humanity, as its arrival in about 12 years would destroy our entire star system.
My Friend Cayla (?)
My Friend Cayla was a line of dolls that used speech recognition and a mobile app to engage in conversations with children by searching the internet for responses. Although it received awards, the doll became highly controversial due to privacy concerns, as it was found to be vulnerable to hacking and capable of being used as a surveillance device. This led to its ban in Germany, where parents were instructed to destroy the dolls, and investigations by the US Federal Trade Commission. The doll's collection and potential sharing of children's speech data for commercial purposes also drew criticism.
